You’ve probably had a Rye beer before, but I doubt you’ve had a Roggenbier. This is a German style ale that uses a healthy amount of Rye. Instead of normal ale yeast, the style calls for Hefeweizen yeast. Think a wheat beer, but instead of wheat, substitute Rye.
This also stays true to the style and is not overly hopped. If you have had a hoppy Roggenbier, you didn’t have a Roggenbier…you had a Rye beer with alot of hops!
If you want a very refreshing Rye beer that isn’t over the top hopped, this is your beer. This also marks the first beer of the “Boys at the Lab Series”.
